Valentine’s Day Cards from Baby

Valentine’s Day cards from baby!

When I was teaching Kindergarten, Valentine’s Day was one of my favorite holidays to celebrate with my students. There’s something about their unconditional love for everyone and everything that fills my heart with joy. But now that I am out of the classroom and new to stay-at-home motherhood, I am not giving up my love of Valentine’s Day crafts. Here is a quick (if your baby is good at napping, unlike Miles) and easy tutorial on some Valentine’s Day cards that even baby can help make!

We made these cards to send out to Miles grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends. I am so happy with how they turned out!

You’ll need:

Directions:

(To prep for this project you will need to take and print some photos of your child. These were the photos that I chose:)

First, I gathered all the materials for painting. I put the card stock in a large Amazon box to make cleanup easier. Then, I put dabs of red paint on the paper and stripped Miles down to his diaper to make sure we did not get any on his clothes and let him stomp around in the paint.

Miles LOVED painting with his feet. It was a great sensory activity for him and he loved dancing around in the box. I was unable to get a good picture because I was alone when I did this.

Once the paint is completely dry, cut the card stock into 4 equal rectangles. The card stock I used was 8.5″ x 11″ so the cut pieces measured 4.25″ x 5.5″.

Cut out the background card stock down to 6″ x 5″.

Once everything is cut out you are ready to assemble the cards!

Assembly is easy. Tape or glue the painted card stock onto the background card stock. Save some room to write a message then adhere the photo.

Viola! Easy and adorable Valentine’s Day cards for your child’s relatives and friends to swoon over!
