DIY Dyed Dry Pasta

DIY rainbow pasta 🌈 🍜 .

We just got finished making some dyed rainbow pasta for our sensory play today. Watch the video at the end of this post on how we made it!

Materials:
Dried pasta*
Liquid Water colors**
Plastic ziplocks
Rubbing alcohol
Baking sheet

Directions:
Put a squirt of the water colors and a table spoon of alcohol into a ziplock bag. Shake the bag until all combined. Leave the pasta in the bag for 20-30 minutes. Lay pasta out in a baking sheet to dry for an hour.

*I used rigatoni because it makes great beads for lacing and it has a lower risk of chocking because of the hold in the middle. Make sure you supervise your child while they play with small/loose parts

** I like using liquid water colors. Check out my amazon store for the non toxic paint we use. You can use food coloring too. I like water colors because it makes the colors vibrant and I do not have to mix up colors to make purple. I’m kinda lazy that way.

There are so many fun activities you do with these bright and vibrant dyed pasta. Great way to start color sorting and also fun for crafts and lacing practice!
